60 Min Run (light) --167--

GLENDALE, Calif. -- Got prepared and went out in the heat for a good, solid hour of light pace. With the hills, we were just under 10 min miles, as it turns out. I haven't paid any attention to pace on these, but this pace was a touch slower than my normal light because of the distance and the very solid temperatures. I was surprised at the Malibu and Chinatown runs how slow our paces ended up being on hilly courses, so this is a good lesson, too.

Anywho, I was very pleased with the run. It was tough conditions split up with a stop back home for some water and other relief. Finished on the flat route back to the village instead of up the hill. Thinking it might be better to finish strong on flat ground and then cool down up the hill rather than continue finishing up hills, which doesn't mimick any course I've ever seen.

Used the listening concept with something around 50 to 60 percent success. It gets both harder and easier in that the moments of success are more intensely successful, but they get interrupted quicker and more frequently. I like the concept, though.

Also wore the watch, so no more estimating. Interesting that I've come back to that.

Actually started getting goose bumps toward the end of this one. That's decent heat.
