25 Min Run (Run)

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Went to the Y again late and was able to salvage a run today. Heading out of town and desperate to keep some momentum going through the next two weeks. It's always dicey around travel...sometimes it's amazing and perfect, sometimes it leads to zero activity.

Anywho, put the dial right at 7.7 or something...right around 8 min miles and held it for a 5K. Really just tried to force myself to a slower pace and focus on form. I think I'm waggling my right heel/ankle a bit when I pull it back which might be the reason I'm having trouble with it. Something to think about.

Anyway...great times. A good and fun one. Proud of holding it right at that same speed the whole time and not baiting myself into dumb speed. Also used the incline steady to help with the form.

15 Min Run (Push)

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Went to the gym with Gaines and didn't have a whole lot of time before the big Roller Derby event. So I put in a speed workout...a threshold quite possibly, where I pushed my pace in the middle mile and bookended it with two warmish half miles.

Fast was at 6:30ish, slow was around 8. I actually pushed the treadmill to it's very limit. It couldn't achieve the 10 mph I was aiming for and held at 9.1 or something. Patheds, you pile.

60 Min Bike (Run) --

GLENDALE, Calif. -- Went all over hell on the bike. First bike in a while...feels good to really burn the legs a bit. They recover so quickly on a bike. It's amazing how fast you can cover ground on these things...and how slow you cover ground when you climb.

Had a couple good climbs of a few hundred feet and a few good stretches of open pedaling. Fun out there. If there's one thing that is much better about Glendale than Los Feliz, it's the biking. Biking in LF is suicide.
