60 Min Run (Run)

SAN FRANCISCO -- Up here on business and was really looking forward to many good runs. And, of course, I just pass out all night and get the first hearty sleep in weeks. Give and take, I guess.

So today is the MSU/Cal game and I got up early and went out with no real plan other than getting within eyeshot of the Golden Gate...something I usually did whenever I ran in SF. Saw the Bay Bridge a ton at first and went down the street our hotel was on "Montgomery" and tried to find connecting roads to where I thought I remembered Ghiredelli (sp?) Square was. I was wrong. Ended up going up to that weird Coit Tower and then down, then up another hill, then down. Then eventually worked over to where I wanted to be. The Golden Gate was, of course, clouded over by fog, but I think I saw a footing. Hell with it.

Ran past a 'slow food' festival, where locally grown, sustainable farming, etc, smelled absolutely amazing even at 8a. What a great town. Then the challenge was to find my way back. Surprisingly enough, I was able to figure it out...though it involved running all the way back up that hill the Fairmont is on and then back down California. Great run. Great, great, great run. Hard run. But a great run.
